Chauliaganj Club emerged champiosn in the FAO 2nd Division League, defeating Royal Club 3-2, via tie-breaker, in the final here at Ravenshaw University Ground earlier on Sept 15. By virtue of winning the title, Chauliaganj Club qualified to compete in the FAO First Division League next year.
Football Association of Odisha (FAO) organissed the Second Division League from September 7, 2017. As many as nine teams joined the tournament. Teams played league matches after being divided into two groups. After completion of 11 league matches, the top team from each group qualified for the final.
The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and the runners-up side Rs 15,000. Odisha Sports Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera handed over the trophy in a function at Barabati Stadium here today. Odisha Athletic Association secretary Asirbad Behera and FAO secretary Sanjay Behera were present on the occasion.

Sept 15 (Match No 12, Final): Chauliaganj Club beat Royal Club 3-2 in tie-breaker (Full time 0-0 draw).
